Subsea cable landings have been a prominent topic in the news lately. The internet connections provided by these cables are vital for both citizens and businesses in our daily lives. “In the Netherlands, we must ensure that we have sufficient subsea cables to maintain connectivity with other countries, even in the event of cable failures,” says Martin Prins, Ambassador of the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition. “This is also crucial for supporting our (digital) economy.”
For those interested, the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition offers resources and support. “We aim to make it as attractive as possible for organizations to establish landings in the Netherlands,” Martin explains. “We do this by sharing knowledge about the Dutch ecosystem, connecting relevant parties, and guiding them through the regulatory and permitting processes in the Netherlands.”
But to attract relevant parties to the Netherlands, strong collaboration within the country is essential. “That’s why we warmly welcome parties who want to contribute ideas and help promote subsea cable landings. Interested parties are always welcome to contact us without obligation.”
