National partners

The Sea Cable Coalition is the place to work together to improve the Netherlands’ position with regard to landings of submarine data cables, which are a crucial part of our digital economy. The coalition promotes the economic and strategic importance of submarine cable connections and actively explores opportunities to link up with planned sea cable routes.

The objective of the Sea Cable Coalition is to encourage new sea cable landings in the Netherlands, for the purpose of maintaining and strengthening the position of the Netherlands as one of the largest digital hubs in the world. The collaboration is hosted by the ECP foundation. You can also join as a coalition participant.

What we do:

Of course, we are not doing this alone. The coalition consists of a network of public and private partners with an interest in the digital infrastructure of the Netherlands, and welcomes parties who want to think along and contribute to promoting sea cable landfall in the Netherlands.

The importance of international connectivity crosses organisational boundaries and can only be promoted together.

Peter van Burgel, CEO of AMS-IX: “The Sea Cable Coalition takes important steps in further facilitating submarine cable systems to the Netherlands. We are pleased to actively participate in further strengthening the Netherlands’ leading position as a digital hub and digital gateway to Europe.”
