Last week, the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition participated in the Submarine Networks event in London to introduce the coalition to international stakeholders involved in undersea connectivity.
“Since the coalition is relatively new, many parties weren’t familiar with us yet,” says Martin Prins, the coalition’s ambassador. “However, it can be highly beneficial for many international players to learn about what the coalition can offer them.”
The Dutch Subea Cable Coalition serves as a central point of contact in the Netherlands, supporting new cable initiatives by connecting relevant stakeholders and assisting with navigating regulatory and permitting systems. “The Netherlands is strategically positioned for cable landings in Europe and boasts a very strong digital infrastructure,” Martin explains. “Additionally, the coalition involves numerous key partners, including government bodies, private companies, and research institutions.”
In this presentation, the role of the coalition and the benefits of landing submarine cables in the Netherlands are clearly highlighted.
Additionally, during the Submarine Networks event, a new landing in the Netherlands, the IOEMA Project, was announced. The Subsea Cable Coalition is actively working to provide the best possible support for this landing.
“We’ve made a strong start. Now, we will explore how we can elevate collaborations to the next level,” Martin concluded.
